2008 Sweetwater Arts Celebration
2 Days, Friday and Saturday
May 30th and 31st

"This project is partially funded by Arts Build Communities, a program funded by the Tennessee General Assembly and administered in cooperation with the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville."
The 2007 Sweetwater Arts Celebration was a super-sensational, first-year event! The 2008 Celebration is well on its way to being recognized among the most celebrated fine art and fine craft exhibits in the region. Thousands of visitors from "around the south" enjoyed a variety of excellent food; symphonic jazz and classical entertainment; and the jurored work of 36 exceptional artists. Over all the 2007 event was nothing short of extraordinary. We invite you to take a moment to enjoy our 2007 Photo Memory Gallery here on line.

The 2008 Sweetwater Arts Celebration is planned as a 2-day event, beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, May 30th, continuing through Saturday, May 31st until 5:00 p.m. If you are an artist who would like to participate in the 2008 Celebration, you may complete your application on-line beginning September 1, 2007 by visiting www.zapplication.com. The deadline for the first level jurying is December 1, 2007. If you need additional assistance, contact the SVCA office at (423) 337-5976, or e-mail the Sweetwater Valley Citizens for the Arts at info@sweetwaterartscelebration.com.

The 2008 Sweetwater Arts Celebration would like to offer appreciation for all the support received from the Arts Fund and Grubb-Sumner Grants of the East Tennessee Foundation, the City of Sweetwater, Monroe County, the Tennessee Overhill Experience and the State of Tennessee Department of Tourism. The Fine Art and Fine Craft Exhibit is presented by the Sweetwater Valley Citizens For the Arts, a non-profit organization established to support the arts and arts education for youth. A special thanks to our 2007 Sponsors, who have helped us make history with the tremendous success of our first event. The 2008 event will be co-sponsored by the Worthington Group of Tennessee, developers of the Willow Creek. The Willow Creek Town Center will again host the 2008 Celebration.

Visitors will enjoy parking and riding the one-mile trolley excursion between the Arts Celebration and Sweetwater's Historic Downtown District to enjoy a tour of Historic Main Street shopping and a variety of entertainment continuing all day Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Black Tie Gala and Silent Art Auction, will be held Friday evening May 30th, beginning at 6:30 p.m.with a Champagne Reception and a Jazz Trio. Enjoy an opportunity to meet the artists, purchase your favorite work and raise funds for SVCA school programs.
